About

Charles P. Brett was the son of William Bailie Brett, a wine and spirit merchant and gentleman, and his second wife, Emma Elizabeth Brett (née Roche). For several years in the 1860s, William Brett was a partner in the firm Twigg, Hutton and Brett, Wine and Spirit Merchants, which had offices on Bachelor’s Walk in the centre of Dublin. Circa 1880, Charles Brett joined the company, which later became Twigg and Brett. He was declared bankrupt in 1897 and later lived in England, where he died in Sevenoaks, Kent, in August 1925 at the age of 64.
