About

Eduard Aidinyan was the brother of fellow lawn tennis player Sidonie Aidinyan. They were two of the children of Paskal Aidinyan, a carpet dealer, and Mella Aidinyan (née Lukman). The family was of Slovenian origin, but lived for some time in Trieste, the important city and seaport in north-east Italy, close to the border with Slovenia.

Eduard Aidinyan is usually listed in early sources as B. Aidinyan. This is probably because he had the nickname ‘Buby’.
