Mr. Richard Verco McMichael, one of the State’s best all-round athletes, died in a private hospital yesterday morning. His death was a shock to his many friends in football and tennis circles, for he played for the Adelaide University team against the Melbourne University last Tuesday and for the combined Universities’ side against an Amateur League team on the following day. He attended other subsequent University events, and few knew that he was not in his usual good health. He was taken to hospital, and underwent an operation for appendicitis on Friday.
