Arthur M. Cave studied at Trinity College, Dublin, and later took holy orders. During World War One he served as Chaplain to the Forces, 4th Class (Captain), Royal Army Chaplains’ Department in the British Army. In addition to lawn tennis, he also played badminton competitively, notably winning the men’s singles title at the International Irish Championships three times (1907-09) and finishing runner-up in the men’s singles event at the All England Badminton Championships in 1908.
