About

Charles Lindemann was the brother of fellow lawn tennis players Frederick and Septimus Lindemann. Charles served with British Army in France during World War One and was later made a Knight of the Legion of Honour. He later entered the British foreign service and was counsellor at the British Embassy in Washington from 1940-1947. He died in Florida in August 1970 at the age of 85.
