About

Marc Mény, as he was sometimes known, was the son of George Mény and Alice Mény (née Boulangé). Marc Mény was a doctor of law and a music composer. His sister, Amélie Marie Marguerite, known as Marguerite, was also a lawn tennis player. Together, they won the mixed doubles title at the French National Championships in 1910. At the Summer Olympic Games of 1912, held in Stockholm, Sweden, Marc Mény won a bronze medal in the outdoor men’s doubles event with his countryman Albert Canet. Marc Mény was a member of the French Army during World War One, and was awarded the Croix de Guerre (War Cross) for conspicuous action. He was also made a Knight of the Legion Honour.
