About

Attended West Point Military Academy in New York; studied law; appointed Judge Advocate General of the American Expeditionary Forces during World War I. Appointed Judge Advocate General of the Army in 1923, with the rank of Major General, but had to retire from this post one year later due to bad eyesight. Subsequently worked as an attorney with the Mexican Claims Commission.

Winner of the mens singles title at the Pacific Northwest Championships in Tacoma in 1903.
