Several early records state that Otto Worisek was an engineer by profession. He appears to have worked mainly in the area of road construction. After the “Anschluss” of March 1938, when Nazi Germany annexed Austria, Otto Worisek was employed in one of the Reichsgaue, or administrative divisions, in Ostmark, the name Adolf Hitler gave Austria after the “Anschluss”. An engineer called Otto Worisek was living in Vienna in 1955, when he was the managing director of two road construction companies. Otto Worisek was more than likely a relation of another early Austrian lawn tennis player, Etelka Worisek.
