Hal Burrows attended the University of Virginia and was later a member of American Davis Cup team. The Harold M. Burrows, Jr. Endowed Tennis Scholarship was created in 2005 by the Virginia Athletics Foundation to honour Hal and his accomplishments, and is awarded annually to a student-athlete who embodies hard work, integrity, sportsmanship and honour.
