Lord Ronaldshay or in full style Earl of Ronaldshay was the courtesy title under which Lawrence Alfred Mervyn Dundas was known from 1929 to 1961.He was the son and heir of the 2nd Marquess of Zetland,a wealthy landowner (with vast property in Yorkshire and Scotland,especially Orkney and Shetland) and politician( governor of Bengal 1917-1922 and Secretary of State for India 1937-1940).After the death of his father in 1961 he succeeded as 3rd Marquess of Zetland and Earl of Ronaldshay (created 1892),5th Earl of Zetland ( cr.1838),6th Baron Dundas of Aske ( cr.1794) and 7th Baronet (cr.1762).He also took his seat in the House of Lords and inherited his vast property.
