Tennis was Dr Dunsworth’s main interest. Between 1920 and 1935, he held city, provincial and Western Canadian singles championships. He also won many doubles championships with different partners. A half-back, Dr Dunsworth starred with the Edmonton Eskimos from 1918 to 1914. He went to two Grey Cups with the team in 1921 and 1922.

Born in Macomb, Illinois, in 1895, he moved to Saskatoon with his family in 1905. The family moved again in 1907, to Lethbridge, where Dr Dunsworth lived until he went to Northwestern University in Chicago to study dentistry. Graduating in 1917, he joined the Canadian Dental Corps and served until 1919.

He came to Edmonton and practised dentistry here until February of this year. From 1949 until 1952, Dr Dunsworth was a director of the Edmonton Eskimos. He was also on the council that chooses the junior athlete of the year.
