Brig. Gen. Paul Lincoln Mitchell was the son of Richard Hannaford Mitchell and Mary Lincoln and the husband of Julie Galvin. He graduated from Yale University. During World War I he commanded the 136th Field Artillery Regiment in France. After the war he was promoted to Brigadier General and commanded the 54th Cavalry Brigade, Ohio National Guard.
Death notice from The Cincinnati Enquirer, March 17, 1962:
"Gen. P. Lincoln Mitchell, whose career spanned two world wars and included leading roles in manufacturing, real estate and Republican politics, died yesterday...He was 82...burial Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Montgomery..."
