Harold Teague attended Brighton Grammar School in Brighton, Melbourne, from 1888 to 1894 before going on to the University of Melbourne, where he studied medicine, subsequently qualifying as a doctor. When World War One broke out he enlisted in the Australian Imperial Forces and initially served in Egypt. He was subsequently transferred to the 2nd Field Ambulance Regiment, which was deployed in Belgium and France. In early 1917, he was assigned to the 11th Battalion as a Medical Officer and then as Commanding Officer. He was killed in action in France in February 1917 at the age of 29.
