Obituary – Death of Edward Higgs

Edward Higgs, a member of the committee of the All-England Lawn Tennis Club, and also a member of the selection committee of the Lawn Tennis Association, died at his home at Lemsford, Hertfordshire. yesterday at the age of 48. Ted Higgs was well known on the courts of Great Britain and elsewhere in the late twenties when he represented Great Britain in the Davis Cup in 1927 and 1928. In the first of these seasons he won the National Covered Courts singles championship. He won the Hertfordshire singles championship three times in succession, thus making the cup his own property. Higgs, who was educated at Haileybury, was president of the Hertfordshire Lawn Tennis Association.
