Brother of fellow lawn tennis player Donald Bauld. From the internet: Before the [Second World War], Gordon worked for the Canadian Press, based in Sydney and Toronto. After returning from Europe, he joined A.S. Carton Insurance, which he owned and operated for many years. Gordon was a fine athlete and was active in many sports, including badminton, tennis, rugby and curling. He represented Nova Scotia regionally and nationally in volleyball, tennis and curling.
