He was a contemporary of von Cramm and apparently was nominated for the Davis Cup Team in the 30ies,but did not play.In the years 1955 to 1965 he was the dominating Senior player in Germany.He was a high ranking officer in the post war Hamburg State Police and President of Klipper Hamburg in the 1960ies,the most successfull Hamburg Tennis Club.
