About

Henry Lawrence Fleming was the son of Andrew Fleming and Catherine Fleming (née Loftus Garner) who married each other on 10 June 1856 in Muzaffarpur district, Tirhut, Bengal. Henry L. Fleming was educated at Blair Lodge School, a private boarding academy for boys located in Polmont, near Falkirk, in Stirlingshire, Scotland. He later joined the British Army. Henry Fleming also played cricket (for Scotland) and was amateur billiard champion of Great Britain in 1909.
