About

On 2 July 1944, Guillaume Troncin was one of more than 2,000 men, women and children deported by train from Compiègne in north-west France to Dachau concentration camp in Bavaria. Although many people died during the journey, Guillaume Troncin survived and his personal details were registered when the train reached Dachau (the details of those who died during the journey were not recorded; their bodies were taken straight to the crematorium). It appears that Guillaume Troncin survived his experience of the concentration camp and was liberated when the Allies arrived at Dachau in April 1945.
