A business manager by profession, Otto Kribben was the brother of fellow lawn tennis player Erna Kirbben. In a double wedding on 11 August 1915 they each married another lawn tennis player, Erna becoming the wife of Friedrich W. Rahe, while Otto became the husband of the Austrian player Mita Klima. He and Mita divorced at some point as Otto Kribben married again in 1935. His second wife’s name was Ruth Gisela Buchholz.
Otto Kribben died – or was killed – at the Lehrter Stadtbahnhof railway station in Berlin on the morning of 24 April 1942. He was 52 years old.
