About

Colin Ritchie was the third son of Charles Ritchie, 2nd Baron Ritchie of Dundee (1866-1948). Colin inherited the title from his brother John Kenneth Ritchie on the latter’s death in 1975, thereby becoming 4th Baron Ritchie of Dundee. (The Kenneth Ritchie Library at the All England Lawn Tennis Club, Wimbledon, is named after John Kenneth Ritchie.) In addition to being a lawn tennis player, Colin Ritchie was also a talented golfer, piano player and water colour artist. In 1943, he married Anne Burra, daughter of the renowned England painter Edward Burra.
