Christopher Crawford (1939-2012), born in Piedmont, California, started playing tennis at the age of 14, and represented the U.S. on the Junior Davis Cup team from 1955-58. He won the Orange Bowl Boys’ 18 singles title in 1957, ranking No. 1 in junior singles that same year. Chris was a member of the 1959 and 1964 U.S. Davis Cup teams, competed in the U.S. Open, Australian Open, and Wimbledon, also winning titles in several national doubles tournaments. His career included coaching at several universities and notable clubs around Texas.
