About

From The Burton Observer and Chronicle, 9 April 1970:

Death of Burton Doctor

Popular Burton practitioner, Dr William Leitrim Clements, died on Monday at his home, 6 St. Paul’s Square, aged 84. Dr Clements took over from his father at the Burton surgery in 1917, the same year he was married, and has served in the medical profession for 53 years. It was during the 1914-18 War that Dr Clements qualified in the profession when in service in the Royal Army Medical Corps.

A keen sportsman, his chief interest was tennis and he not only competed in the Wimbledon championships but was chosen for England's Davis Cup party during his career. He became president of Burton’s Grange Lawn Tennis Club and was still an active player at the age of 69.

Dr Clements leaves his wife, two sons, Mr Michael Clements and Dr Basil O. Clements, and a daughter, Mrs Kathleen Adams.
