Death of Mr William G. Manson, Writer to the Signet

The death has occurred in Edinburgh of Mr William George Manson, LL.B., Writer to the Signet, of 5 Wemyss Place, Edinburgh. Mr Manson, who was 71 years of age, was a son of Mr George Manson, Secretary to the Port Trust of Bombay, [and…]. Apprenticed to the legal firm of Beith & Murray, he was admitted to the Society of Writers to the Signet in 1895, and founded the firm of W.G. Manson & Co., developing a wide practice.

During the last war Mr Manson served with the Edinburgh Volunteers. In his early life he achieved considerable reputation as a tennis player, and, with Mr Alfred Dunlop, won in 1911 the gentlemen’s doubles competition in the South of Scotland Championships tournament.
